My name’s Tina. I’m a reviewer. Reader. Copywriter. Writer. It’s safe to say I love words and the books that contain them. I’ve written bestselling stories, and I’ve reviewed books for multiple publications. Publishing reviews on my own blog is my way of sharing books I love (and some I don’t) and introducing them to you. I tend to read a lot of psychological fiction and suspense, but I don’t limit myself– or my reviews.
I review books I’ve chosen (and purchased) to read, as well as those provided to me by publishers. I don’t typically accept review requests from independent writers. If you have any questions or want me to consider your book, please visit my “Get In Touch” page.
A star rating for a book is completely arbitrary depending on the blogger/reviewer. There isn’t a universal system used for giving stars to books. That said, you should always be sure you understand each blogger/reviewer’s ratings policy, but give most of the weight to the actual review and not the number of stars awarded.
My rating system is simple. I do not and will not ever give a book reviewed on my blog under three stars. All books I review are basically rated as good (three stars), better (four stars), and best (five stars) as detailed below. There are plenty of bad reviews on Amazon and Goodreads if you’re looking for books to avoid reading. This blog is a place where you can always find recommendations and nothing less.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars. The book was good, but there were some things about it that I didn’t like. Those things are discussed in the review.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars. The book was good. I enjoyed reading it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars. The book was great, amazing, awesome… I loved it.
