Rating: 5 out of 5.

Glamorous, seductive, and deliciously nasty, “Every Last Secret” by A.R. Torre is a riveting tale about power, obsession, and the dark depths two women will go to in order to get what they want.

About the Book

“Every Last Secret” by A.R. Torre

Welcome to the neighborhood. Watch your husband, watch your friends, and watch your back.

Cat Winthorpe has worked hard to get what she has: a gorgeous home; social standing; and William, her successful, handsome husband. Then a friendly new couple moves into the estate next door. While cautious, a good neighbor like Cat greets them with open arms and warm hospitality.

Neena Ryder isn’t a fellow lady of leisure. A life coach with off-the-rack dresses, personal issues, and a husband who hasn’t delivered, she’s anxious to move up in the world. This beautiful new town is a step in the right direction. It’s also making Neena aware of what she doesn’t have. Namely, William. When Neena’s infatuation escalates into obsession, it’s just a matter of eliminating a few obstacles to get the life she wants. The life next door.

As Neena’s secret fixation grows, so does her friendship with Cat. But beneath their cordial interactions is a wealth of temptations, secrets, and toxic jealousy. For both women, the desire for a perfect life can turn perfectly dangerous.

My Review

When Neena Ryder and her husband Matt move into the house next to Cat and William Winthorpe, the two couples instantly begin to forge a friendship despite their differences. Cat and William are happily married and live an idyllic , opulent life. The Ryders are trying to climb the social ladder. For Neena, the growing friendship, along with her new job at William’s company, is part of her plan to finally be wealthy and happy. All she needs is to seduce Cat’s husband to make it happen.

But when Neena’s husband and Cat Winthorpe start to get in her way, how far will she go to get what she wants?

How far will Cat go to keep her husband when she figures out what’s going on?

Glamorous, seductive, and deliciously nasty, “Every Last Secret” by A.R. Torre is a riveting tale about power, obsession, and the dark depths two women will go to in order to get what they want. Told from both Neena and Cat’s points of view, the story is taut with suspense and, at times, raw with emotion. While Neena carries out her plan to seduce William, Cat feels the threat to her marriage as she works to keep the attention of her increasingly distracted husband. It sounds simple and straight-forward, but the characters and plot are neither. The secrets these women keep from their husbands and the reader make the book as twisty as it is steamy. Moving at a steady yet quickening pace, each chapter is more riveting than the last. The final twist comes just as everything between Cat, Neena, and William comes to a head. It will knock you through a loop and make you fall in love with the author.

I got hooked on A.R. Torre’s books after reading “The Girl in 6E” years ago. Her novels are always steamy, and her writing style always sucks you in and makes you forget you’re reading. I finished “Every Last Secret” in a little over a day. It wasn’t intentional. Once I got into the story, I lost track of time and place until I got to the last page. The only thing I hated was finishing it.

Thank you to Thomas & Mercer and A.R. Torre for a complimentary eARC in exchange for an honest review.
